Much of the kente sold online is printed. Handwoven kente is made strip by strip on a loom, and its patterns carry names and meaning. UNESCO recognised kente weaving as cultural heritage in 2024, and in 2025 Ghana registered kente as its first protected geographical indication. Every kente listing here says how it was made, so you know what you’re buying.

Every kente, stole and smock listing must say how it was made: handwoven, kente-print (printed) or machine-woven. Ask the seller for a photo of the back — handwoven kente shows the pattern on both sides.
It depends on the item, the size, and whether it's handwoven. The seller confirms the price with you before anything is made.
Handwoven and made-to-measure pieces take time — a stole can take a weaver most of a day, and a full cloth several weeks. Tell the seller your event date first.
Derbaba does not ship anything itself. Sellers ship directly and set out the shipping cost before you order. Parcels from Ghana may owe import duties or taxes on arrival, depending on your country — ask the seller how they ship.
Made-to-measure pieces are cut to your measurements; the seller tells you which ones they need.
