Toronto & Canada
Habesha Kemis Toronto
Toronto and the wider GTA hold one of Canada's largest Ethiopian and Eritrean communities, long anchored along the Danforth. Rather than hunting Facebook groups or waiting for a relative's suitcase, browse sellers in Addis Ababa on Derbaba and message the weaver or atelier directly on WhatsApp or Telegram to order the piece you want.
Each habesha kemis or netela is made to order — about one to four weeks in Addis Ababa — then shipped to Canada, priced in CAD. You buy straight from the maker, with no boutique markup. Custom sizing, bespoke embroidery and tibeb border options are available on request.
